Any book that has a 1 has at least a 2. 3 John is the exeption. For all the second books, just substitute a 2 for the one. 3 John would be 3Jon.

If you don't put periods after the abbreviations, you will save space. And you don't have to put spaces between numbers and the books. The change from letters to numbers will imply a space when you write in the margin of your bible, and will save space.
